I came away from the BDÜ conference feeling very inspired, and the first thing I did was to create this new website, which I have been working on since the weekend.
I aim to fill this with new content, as it currently only features the texts from our old website at www.bnw-uebersetzungen.de, which had been a bit of an eyesore for me for some time as it "felt" a bit outdated and looked somewhat amateurish, although it was created by a professional (and cost a pretty penny!) to put up a few years ago. I decided to use a CMS system as this gives me the maximum freedom to shape the site to my tastes and needs and I'm very independent as I can change the content as necessary. I would like to make more active use of the site as an important interface to the world outside the four walls of my office. What you are looking at now is only the result of my first timid steps, and I hope that the coming weeks will see a considerable improvement in its appearance.
One thing that became very evident at the conference is that we as freelancers are becoming increasingly dependent on one another, and that it is essential that we focus on networking with colleagues to cover other languages and - if you decide to take this quite advanced step - comply with the EN 15038 standard with regard to cross-checking.
We are always interested in working together with qualified colleagues who can provide the languages, combinations and fields of expertise which we ourselves cannot.
As French and English native speakers we work from German into French and English.
Contact us! We would be pleased to hear from you. |
